To monitor the 6 MSW disposal system in the state by 2010.
To monitor the installation of 4 biomedical waste incinerator by 2012.
To monitor 206 plastic manufacturing units of bags below 20 microns in the state.
To monitor the overall land pollution in the state and provide the feedback to concerned agencies. And identify vulnerable areas to concerned agencies for focused attention.
Clean water
To monitor the quality of discharges from 11 ETP (Industrial) and 4 STP (Municipal), and storm water let into river water and creeks in the State.
To provide the list of vulnerable areas and action required for the all the cities in the state for further planning and interventions. 
GPCB would monitor the overall water pollution in the State.
Clean air
To reduce the most vulnerable (six) cities’ RSMP levels to <85ppm and Jamnagar RSMP level to <100ppm by the end of 2010
To set up Ambient air quality monitoring stations in vulnerable areas
Major activities undertaken for IEC plan
Monitoring of 11 vulnerable areas and 4 Municipal Corporation for clean water.
Ambient air quality monitoring of 7 cities under clean air activities.
Monitoring or solid waste dissolves for 6 Municipal corporation/Municipalities and 13 bio-medical waste disposals under clean land. 
Activity for IEC
26 common affluent treatment plants for small scale industries and more 6 such plants are under construction.

GPCB has developed online software (xgn) for effective monitoring and analysis of industries. This software has been awarded a Silver Award under 13th E – governance award 2009-10.
